Before the wider deployment of alternative energy, petroleum is still the primary source of energy for many countries. While it has become very real that the use of petroleum must be drastically lowered to levels that existed before the living memory of most people, the challenge ahead isn’t all that doom and gloom.

Great Need On Alternative Energy

There are great opportunities to make some real money on alternative energy to meet a massive consumer demand when suitable energy technologies are found to reduce petroleum dependence. Investment on renewable resources is generating great interest worldwide. This includes the cheap and convenient generation of solar, wind, geothermal power and any energy source with low carbon emissions.

Renewable Resources Research And Investment

Global trends in renewable resources investments show a rapid rise, with some countries seeing sharp increase in deployment of renewable energy. India, a country with largest total population, installed capacity of 11 Gigawatt of renewable resources in 2007. of which wind energy seems to be drawing most of the investments. There are also research and development plans to ramp-up investment in other renewable energies, such as solar and biofuels.

Incentives And Investment On Renewable Resources

Many countries also announce their plans to make renewable energy generation mandatory for power producers. Power companies are rushing into renewable energy, and this is bound to boost investment in the sector. Some governments also offer heavy incentives to promote and attract foreign investment to join the renewable energy sector, with the hope to reap long term benefits when their renewable energy technologies become popular.
